Assistant Professor
The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio is inviting applications for the position of Assistant Professor. Candidates will have an opportunity to join a vibrant academic group, in the beautiful city of San Antonio. Preferred candidates will have experience in all aspects of Adult Cardiac Surgery, to include a demonstrated interest in endovascular surgery as well as interest in developing a percutaneous or transapical valve program. In addition, applicant will have experience in transplantation. Applicants should be motivated to participate in academic adult cardiothoracic clinical practice and have a demonstrated interest in a productive clinical level of service, academic excellence and cutting edge research be required, and the applicant must display interests in a new program development.
Candidates must be Board eligible/certified in thoracic surgery. Candidates should also have excellent leadership, organizational, and motivational skills, and demonstrate a commitment to both academic and clinical excellence.

Preferred candidates will have experience in all aspects of General Thoracic Surgery including lung transplantation. Clinical, academic, and research productivity will be required, and the applicant must display interests in both teaching and program development in conjunction with our healthcare partners.
