UTCTS Health Review evaluates cardiovascular supplements, telehealth platforms, monitoring devices, and wellness products through a structured verification process. This page explains exactly what we check, how we check it, and what we will not publish without verification. Transparency about our methodology is part of our editorial commitment.
Our Editorial Lens
Every product we evaluate is assessed through a cardiovascular wellness framework. This means we specifically examine:
- Whether ingredients have cardiovascular safety considerations (effects on blood pressure, heart rate, anticoagulant properties, interactions with cardiovascular medications)
- Whether cardiovascular-specific clinical evidence exists and what it actually shows
- Whether a product’s marketing claims are consistent with what the published research supports
- Whether the product is appropriate for cardiovascular wellness-focused readers, or whether specific populations should exercise caution
This cardiovascular lens distinguishes our coverage from general wellness publications. We flag interactions, contraindications, and evidence gaps that matter to heart-health-aware readers.
Our Verification Process
Step 1: Source Verification
Before writing any product-focused content, we fetch the official product page or platform website directly. We extract the complete ingredient list from the Supplement Facts panel (not from marketing copy), pricing tiers, refund and return policy terms, contact information, and any certifications or third-party testing claims. We document the date and URL of each verification.
Step 2: Label vs. Marketing Check
For supplement products, we compare the marketing ingredient list against the actual Supplement Facts panel. If a product’s marketing highlights ingredients not present on the panel, or claims dosages that differ from the panel, we document the discrepancy and write only to what the panel confirms. We do not reproduce unverified marketing claims as fact.
Step 3: Research Review
We search PubMed, NIH resources, and peer-reviewed journals for clinical evidence relevant to the product’s key ingredients. We distinguish between:
- Established evidence from replicated human clinical trials
- Preliminary evidence from single studies or small trials
- Animal or in-vitro research that has not yet been replicated in humans
- Areas where research is absent, conflicting, or insufficient to draw conclusions
We cite research by author, year, and journal name. We do not use anonymous “studies show” language. If we cannot locate a study on PubMed or in a verifiable journal, we do not cite it.
Step 4: Cardiovascular Safety Check
We evaluate each product for cardiovascular-specific considerations, including stimulant content, blood pressure effects, cholesterol interactions, anticoagulant or platelet-affecting properties, and known interactions with cardiovascular medications. Products with significant cardiovascular considerations receive explicit flagging in our content.
Step 5: Regulatory and Compliance Check
We verify the regulatory classification of the product (dietary supplement, OTC drug, medical device, prescription telehealth service). For telehealth platforms, we check LegitScript certification status, licensing disclosures, and whether compounding is involved. For supplement products, we verify that structure/function claims are within DSHEA boundaries. We flag any FDA warning letters or regulatory actions associated with the product or brand.
Step 6: Pricing and Policy Verification
We verify current pricing, subscription terms, and refund policies at the time of writing. We note the verification date and URL in our “What We Verified” section. Prices change; readers should verify current pricing directly with the seller before purchasing.
What We Do Not Do
- We do not fabricate clinical studies, invent ingredient data, or create fictional product specifications.
- We do not reproduce marketing claims as independent research findings.
- We do not use “clinically proven,” “FDA-approved,” or “doctor-recommended” language without literal verification that those specific claims are accurate.
- We do not attribute disease treatment, cure, diagnosis, or prevention effects to dietary supplements.
- We do not publish testimonials from unverifiable sources or invented customer outcomes.
- We do not update “last verified” dates without actually re-verifying the content.
Affiliate Relationships and Editorial Independence
UTCTS Health Review earns commissions through paid links to products and services we cover. These are paid links — if you purchase through them, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not determine which products we cover, how we structure our assessments, or what conclusions we reach. Products earn negative assessments when the evidence or our verification process warrants it. Our editorial conclusions are not for sale.
Full disclosure of our affiliate relationships is available on our Editorial Standards & Transparency page.
Corrections Policy
When we publish content that contains a factual error, we correct it. Corrections are noted inline with the original article, identifying what was corrected and when. If you identify an error in our content, please use our Contact page to notify us. We review correction requests and respond to verifiable errors promptly.
Content Currency
Health research, product formulations, regulatory status, and pricing change over time. We review and update product-focused content periodically. The “last verified” date in each article reflects when we last confirmed the information against current sources. Content that has not been recently updated may not reflect the most current product information, research, or regulatory status.
