A.J. Carpenter, MD, PhD, has extensive experience with endovascular harvesting
of both arteries and veins. Selected patients may be young, have
aggressive disease, or have poor veins. Our group is committed to
providing arterial conduits to these patients. Long-term benefit appears

to be present in younger patients with aggressive disease. All our
members are proficient in radial artery grafts, bilateral mammary artery
grafts, and gastroepiploic grafts. Risks and potential benefits need to
be considered and appropriate bypass and conduit offered. Dr. Carpenter
and our surgical team are able to obtain conduits for bypass surgery
through smaller, less invasive incisions, thereby speeding recovery and
reducing post-operative complications.
